Small Scale Projects

ESD has engaged in several short-term, smaller scale environmental services contracts. Here are just a few of our projects, along with descriptions of the services provided:

Petro- Canada - (2001) - Ice Incursion Probabilities, Compiled iceberg and sea ice data for 24 grid blocks off Eastern Canada. Conducted analysis on the data and providing a report to be used in assessing potential ice related problem that may be experience in future offshore programs.

ExxonMobil - (2001) - Ice Management Plan: Developed an Ice and Environmental Management Plan for an exploration drilling program operating in French waters. The plan outlined the duties and responsibilities of the Operator when ice was present in the drilling area and was accepted by the operator and regulatory agency.

Petro- Canada - (2001) - Ice Distributions for Bay Nord: Compiled iceberg and sea ice data, conducted analysis on the data and providing a report to be used in assessing potential ice related problem in new exploration areas.

White Rose Development - (2001) - Ice Factors Effecting Production Design.: Provide additional analyses of the White Rose ice regime and other data to assist in the criteria for the floating production system for White Rose development

White Rose Development Application - (2000) - White Rose Ice Regime: This contract involved compiling iceberg and sea ice data, conducting analyses on the data and providing a report to be used in the White Rose Development Environmental Impact Statement.

Joint Operators Ice Management Plan - (2000): Developed a Joint Operators Ice Management Plan on behalf of the oil companies operating off Newfoundland for the Canada-Newfoundland Offshore Petroleum Board. The Plan, accepted by all operators, outlines the duties and responsibilities of the Operators when ice was present in the drilling areas.

Amoco Canada - (1996) - Ice Incursion Probabilities: Compiled iceberg and sea ice sightings, conducting analysis on the data and providing a report to be used in assessing proposed start-up time periods for exploratory drilling program.

Terra Nova Group - (1995) - Summary of Historic Iceberg: This contract involved compiling iceberg sightings from a proprietary database, conducting analyses on the data to assist with the compilation of the Terra Nova EIS ice environment.

Terra Nova Group - (1995) - Draft Ice Management Plan: Tasked to design and produce an ice management plan specific to the requirements of a floating production system on the Grand Banks of Newfoundland.
