Age Requirement for the Identity Screening Regulations
The Identity Screening Regulations require air carriers to ask passengers who
appear to be 18 years or older for identification.
Before boarding, all passengers planning to travel on Canadian domestic and
international flights coming to or leaving Canada who appear to be 18 years of
age or older, are to be asked to present:
1. One piece of valid government-issued identification that includes a
photograph and the passenger's name,
OR
2. Two pieces of valid government-issued ID showing the passenger's name,
without photographs.

Allowed: Liquids, gels, or aerosols in containers 100mls/ 100g (3.5 oz.) or
less. These containers MUST be placed in 1one (1) clear, closed and re-sealable
plastic bag no larger than one litre (one quart). ONE BAG PER PERSON
-
Prohibited: Unsealed, open, or opaque plastic bags of any size with liquids,
gels, or aerosols in containers of any size. Liquids, gels, or aerosols in
containers larger than 100 mls/ 100g (3.4 oz).

Items exempt from restrictions (these items must be declared to security
screeners) – Baby formula, baby food, and milk for guests traveling with
children two years of age and under and prescription and essential
non-prescription medicines. These items do not require a plastic bag, but may
require additional screening.

2. Fares
-
Fares are quoted on a one-way basis and are subject to change without notice.
Seats at the lowest fare are limited and may not be available on all flights.

Fares can be changed or cancelled up until two hours prior to flight time.
Change fees of $75.00 plus HST may apply.

Credit files are valid for one year from the date of creation and are fully
transferable, however a change fee of $75.00 plus HST will be applied.

Bereavement Fares
-
Bereavement fares can be booked thru our reservation office only. You will be
asked for some general information at the time of booking.

PAL offers bereavement fares on every flight to those traveling due to a death
in their immediate family. These fares offer maximum flexibility with no fees
or upgrade charges for changes.

Medical and Escort fares
-
PAL offers special discounted fares for passengers traveling due to medical
reasons and their escorts.
-
To be eligible for these rates the passenger must provide a letter from their
doctor stating the reason for travel. If the passenger opts to purchase a seat
sale ticket, where the fare may be cheaper, the passenger will be required to
adhere to all rules of that fare.
3. Fees, taxes and surcharges
-
Taxes and fees are not included in the price of the fare. Applicable taxes will
be added to both fares and fees.

The following taxes may be added: Harmonized Sales Tax (HST), Quebec Sales Tax
(QST), Nav Canada/Insurance and the Security Tax (ATSC), and Airport
Improvement Fees (AIF’s).
4. Online Bookings
-
All flights may be booked online thru our web site.
5. Form of Payment
-
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Diners Club Cards. Cash and
debit are accepted at the airport.
6. Checking In
-
Passengers will receive seat assignment upon check-in, this will be done on a
first come, first serve basis.
-
Check-in for all Provincial Airlines flights is 1 hour prior to scheduled
departure time.
-
Cut off time is 30 minutes prior to departure time. Passengers should be thru
security and at their departure gate by this time.
-
Passengers arriving at the gate less than 10 minutes prior to departure may be
denied boarding and risk being cancelled from the flight.
7. Boarding your Flight
-
Pre-boarding will be done for unaccompanied minors, passengers with children or
for any passenger in need of assistance.
-
PAL has the right to deny boarding to anyone under the influence of alcohol and
or drugs, or any persons causing distress, damage or injury to any other
passengers or crew.
8. Baggage
-
Checked baggage
-
Passengers must have name tags on all pieces of luggage as per Transport Canada
Regulations.
-
Our baggage allowance is 2 pieces of luggage at 25lbs per piece. Total of 50lbs
per person.
-
Maximum size of a checked bag is 62 inches.
-
Excess baggage
-
If your baggage is overweight (more then 50lbs) there will be a charge of
$25.00 plus tax for each additional bag and they will be tagged as excess.
-
If one or more pieces of your luggage has been tagged as an excess bag every
effort will be made to have your baggage travel with you on the same flight. If
this is not possible, it will be forwarded on the next available flight and
will be available for pick up at the airport. Provincial Airlines will not
assume liability for any delivery costs incurred.

Carry on baggage
-
Maximum size for all carry on baggage is 12X16X10 inches.
-
Each passenger is permitted 1 piece of carry on baggage.
-
A small purse, personal bag, or diaper bag may be carried in addition to the 1
piece.
-
The following items should be packed in your carry on luggage: identification,
medication, keys, wallet, jewelry.
-
Due to the fragile nature of your laptop computer we encourage you to carry it
onboard.
-
Sky Check baggage
-
A service by which you can place your carry on bag on the cart positioned
beside the aircraft stairs, and may be claimed from the cart as you are
disembarking the aircraft.
-
This service is available at all PAL airports.
-
Tags are readily available at check-in or at the gate.
-
Lost or damaged baggage
-
Provincial Airlines carry bags for thousands of our passengers throughout or
network every year. While we strive to achieve customer satisfaction baggage
may sometimes be delayed or damaged.
-
If your checked baggage does not arrive, please report this to the airport
within 24 hours. A baggage tracer will then be opened and an agent will ask for
contact information and a description of your bag and its contents.
-
If your checked baggage is damaged upon arrival please report this to the
airport or our customer service department within 24 hours.
-
When damage is reported and deemed the result of negligence or accident on the
part of Provincial Airlines, you will be offered immediate settlement with a
travel voucher equal to the cost of the repair, or we will make the
arrangements to have the bag repaired at our cost.
-
Fragile items packed in checked baggage are not covered by Provincial Airlines;
please ensure all such items are securely packed to avoid damage.
9. Pets and Animals
-
Provincial Airlines allows cats and dogs only for travel in the cargo hold of
our aircraft.
-
We ask that those passengers traveling with their pets to check in at least one
hour prior to departure as you may be required to accompany your pet through
additional screening.
-
A fee is charged based on the size of the kennel. Fees apply on a one way basis
even if it’s your only piece of luggage.
-
Animals must be placed in a hard-sided kennel that is designed for airline
travel. Please note that wire or soft sided carriers are not accepted for
travel.
-
Your animal must be able to stand and turn around freely.
-
Animals must be at least 8 weeks old.
-
Animals must be booked when you make your travel reservations.
-
A winter embargo is put in place during the holiday season.
-
Kennels cannot be locked and wheels must be removed.
-
Animal and kennel combined cannot weigh more than 100lbs.
10. Unaccompanied Minors
-
Must be between the ages of 5 – 11 inclusive.
-
Upon check-in the individual escorting the child to the airport will be asked
to provide photo Identification and complete an Unaccompanied minor form.
-
In order to complete the form correctly we ask that you have the following
information before you arrive to check in: the name, complete address and phone
number of the individual dropping the child off as well as all of the same
information for the individual meeting the child on arrival. Please ensure this
information is accurate at the child will only be released to the person who is
listed on the form.

The child will be in the care of the flight attendant until the flight arrives
at the destination. Upon arrival the customer service representative will
escort the child into the airport to meet the family member/friend meeting.
They will be asked for ID, if the ID matches the information given on the UM
form the child will then be released into their care.
-
A service charge of $35.00 plus tax for all Unaccompanied Minor travel per one
way.
11. Infants
-
One child under the age of two years may travel at no additional charge
provided they are accompanied by one fare paying adult and are seated on the
adult’s lap for the duration of the flight
-
The adult must hold the infant during taxi, takeoff, landing and anytime that
the seatbelt sign is illuminated.
-
A seat may be purchased for the infant. If the infant is not restraint in a
seat cerified for motor vehicle or aircraft use, the adult must hold the child
for taxi, takeoff, landing and any time that the seat belt sign is illuminated.
-
Passengers traveling with an infant are permitted to check 1 piece of baby
equipment and 1 bag weighing no more then 25 lbs.
12. Allergies
-
Provinicial Airlines does its best to accommodate guests with special requests;
however, as our aircraft are public environments, we cannot guarantee an
allergen-free environment.
13. Oxygen
-
The length of the bottle may not exceed 20” (including the regulator), and the
diameter may not exceed 5”
-
Please note, a total of 2 bottles of oxygen per aircraft are permitted
-
Require documentation from medical personnel stating the need for medical
oxygen, specifying the maximum quantity of oxygen needed for the entire flight
and the maximum flow rate needed.
14. Service Animals
-
Service Animals will be accepted free of charge in the aircraft cabin, when on
duty. The animal must remained harnessed and at the feet of its owner for the
duration of the flight.
