Innu Mikun Airlines in conjunction with Voisey Bay Nickel Company and the Labrador School Board are proud to say they will be transporting Fresh milk on a regular basis to Northern Coastal Schools of Labrador.
The Labrador School Board is extremely excited with this joint venture and have been working on this partnership for a few months.
Fresh milk is extremely hard for schools to access given the budgetary constraints of the school board. School Health Promotion Liaison Consultant, Andrew Battcock says, “this is a dream come true for us. Most schools in our province have access to fresh milk on a regular basis but unfortunately the students of Coastal Labrador could not avail of this convenience. I’ve been working on this project for sometime now and thanks to the generosity and support of Innu Mikun Airlines and Voisey Bay Nickel Company it is now a reality.”
Tom Randell Managing Director of Innu Mikun stated that “We are very pleased to be working in partnership with VBNC to deliver fresh milk to the schools on the North Coast of Labrador.” Bob Cooper, General Manager of VBNC’s Mine and Concentrator noted that “We have regular charter flights traveling to the North Coast and we felt that this initiative was important and is an excellent example of Labrador businesses working together.”
The Labrador School Board recognizes the commitment and wishes to thank all parties for their support and concern.
